Publish a car step by step
Publish a car with the cliquealo.mx/anuncia wizard or with the panel form, and understand every screen until it goes live.
Use the wizard if it's your first car or if you don't have an account: it walks you through one question at a time and creates your account at the end. Use the panel form if you already have an account and want to see every field together.

- You don't need an account. If you don't have one, you create it in the last step.
- Have the details from the vehicle registration card handy (make, model, and year), plus your photos in JPG, PNG, or WebP.
- Partner bank accounts can't publish cars.
Steps
Choose what you're going to publish
In «¿Qué vas a publicar?» ("What are you going to publish?") tap «Un auto» ("A car"). If you choose «Una casa» ("A house"), the wizard switches to the real estate questions; we explain them in Real estate.
Answer the car questions
One question per screen: make, model, year, body style, transmission, fuel, color, and mileage. Most of them move ahead on their own as soon as you tap an option. Each one is explained in Car details.
Register the VIN, if you have it
In «¿Tienes el VIN a la mano?» ("Do you have the VIN handy?") type the 17 characters and again in «Confirma el VIN» ("Confirm the VIN"), by hand: pasting isn't allowed in the confirmation. «Continuar» ("Continue") turns on when the VIN is valid and both match; below it says «Coinciden» ("They match"). Read the notice «Una vez guardado, el VIN ya no se puede cambiar.» ("Once it's saved, the VIN can't be changed."). If you don't have it, tap «Ahora no» ("Not now"). See Register the VIN.
Set the price
In «¿En cuánto lo vendes?» ("How much are you selling it for?") type the price in Mexican pesos and tap «Continuar» ("Continue"). See Price and currency.
Add photos
In «Enséñalo con fotos» ("Show it with photos") tap «Agregar fotos» ("Add photos"). You can upload up to 10. If you don't have them yet, tap «Agregar fotos después» ("Add photos later"). See Photos.
Say where the car is
In «¿Dónde está el auto?» ("Where is the car?") choose your state and, if it shows up, your city. Tap «Ver mi anuncio» ("See my ad"), or «Prefiero no decirlo por ahora» ("I'd rather not say for now") to skip it.
Check how it will look
«Así se verá tu anuncio» ("This is how your ad will look") shows the cover photo, the title, the price, and the spec sheet. Tap the pencil next to any detail to correct it. When it looks right, tap «Me gusta, publicar» ("Looks good, publish").
Create your account (if you don't have one)
In «Tu anuncio está listo» ("Your ad is ready") enter your name, your email, and a password of at least 8 characters. WhatsApp is optional. Tap «Continuar». If you're already signed in with a confirmed email, this step doesn't appear.
Confirm your email
In «Confirma tu correo» ("Confirm your email") enter the code you received and tap «Confirmar y publicar» ("Confirm and publish"). If it didn't arrive, tap «Reenviar código» ("Resend code"). If you typed the wrong email, tap «Cambiar correo» ("Change email").
Choose how you're going to sell
Under «¿Cómo vas a vender?» ("How are you going to sell?") tap «Particular» ("Individual") to publish your ad, or «Agencia o lote» ("Agency or lot") to activate your lot with the Cliquéalo team's help or see the plans. If you already have a store, this step doesn't appear. See Help me sell.
Your email and your WhatsApp are visible
They're shown on your profile so buyers can contact you directly. You can hide them whenever you want from your panel.
Moving around the wizard
- On a computer, the list of steps is on the left. On a phone, tap the title at the top to open it: «Toca cualquier paso para editarlo.» ("Tap any step to edit it.").
- Each step has a colored dot: green if it's already answered, amber for the one you're looking at, and red if it's missing.
- «Avance de tu publicación» ("Your ad's progress") tells you what percentage you've completed. On a phone, at the top you see which step you're on and the percentage.
- «Regresar» ("Back") takes you to the previous question.
- What you enter is saved in this browser for 7 days, photos included. If you close the tab, you pick up where you left off when you come back.
Start over
Tap «Empezar de nuevo» ("Start over"). If you've already entered something, the «¿Empezar de nuevo?» ("Start over?") window appears: «Se borra el avance guardado en este navegador: los datos que capturaste y las fotos que subiste. Volverás al primer paso. Los anuncios que ya publicaste no se tocan.» ("The progress saved in this browser is deleted: the details you entered and the photos you uploaded. You'll go back to the first step. The ads you've already published aren't touched."). Choose «Borrar y empezar» ("Delete and start") or «Seguir con mi anuncio» ("Keep working on my ad").
The «Publicando tu anuncio» screen
After you confirm, you see «Publicando tu anuncio» ("Publishing your ad") with «No cierres esta pantalla; tardamos unos segundos.» ("Don't close this screen; it takes a few seconds.") and a list that gets checked off:
If you didn't have a store, one is created in your name. If you already had one, that one is used.
The car's details are saved.
Only appears if you added photos. It shows, for example, «(2 de 5)» ("(2 of 5)") and the percentage.
The automatic review of the ad runs.
What happens next
When it finishes, the publishing sound plays and you see the green check mark.
Ad ready
It passed the automatic review: «Ya aparece en el catálogo. Tu tienda quedó lista para administrar tus anuncios.» ("It now appears in the catalog. Your store is ready for you to manage your ads.")
What you can do: Tap «Ver mi anuncio» to see it as a buyer would.
«Lo estamos revisando; en cuanto pase la revisión aparece en el catálogo. Tu tienda ya quedó lista.» ("We're reviewing it; as soon as it passes the review it appears in the catalog. Your store is ready.")
What you can do: Wait. Follow its status in your inventory.
On the same screen:
- «¿Quieres salir en las primeras posiciones?» ("Want to show up in the top spots?") offers to boost the ad for 7 days. «Sí, impulsar mi anuncio» ("Yes, boost my ad") takes you to payment; «Ahora no, ir a mi tienda» ("Not now, go to my store") takes you to your panel. See Boost ads.
- «Publicar otro anuncio» ("Publish another ad"): «Borra este resumen de tu navegador y arranca un anuncio nuevo.» ("Deletes this summary from your browser and starts a new ad.").
If you open the wizard again within the next 24 hours, you'll see this same summary until you tap «Publicar otro anuncio».
The usual case
Everything in order
You fill in the details, upload photos, and publish. The automatic review approves it in seconds and you see the green check mark. The car is already in the catalog.
Something doesn't work the first time
It stays in review
You publish without photos, your plan is already full, or the automatic review has doubts. The car stays En revisión and the Cliquéalo team reviews it. See Review and rejections.
Worst case
Something got stuck halfway
In the wizard you see «Algo se atoró» ("Something got stuck") with the reason. Tap «Reintentar» ("Retry"); if the ad had already been created, another one isn't created. If you'd rather drop it, «Empezar de nuevo» deletes your progress. In the panel, if a photo fails, you see «Publicación creada, pero algunas fotos no subieron.» ("Ad created, but some photos didn't upload."); the car stays in review and you upload the missing photos from «Editar» ("Edit").
Special case
The catalog isn't ready
If the catalog of makes hasn't loaded, the wizard shows «Estamos preparando el catálogo» ("We're getting the catalog ready"), «Vuelve en un momento para publicar tu anuncio.» ("Come back in a moment to publish your ad."), and the panel shows «Catálogo vacío» ("Empty catalog"). Wait a few minutes and try again.
Errors and how to fix them
What you see · Wizard, «Tu anuncio está listo» step
«Esa cuenta ya existe. Inicia sesión para continuar.»
That account already exists. Sign in to continue.
What it means. There's already an account with that email. Below it you see «Ya tienes una cuenta con ese correo. Inicia sesión y tu avance se conserva.» ("You already have an account with that email. Sign in and your progress is kept.").
What to do.
- Tap «Inicia sesión» ("Sign in").
- When you come back to the wizard, your ad is where you left it.
What you see · Wizard, «Confirma tu correo» step
«Código incorrecto o vencido. Revisa tu correo.»
Incorrect or expired code. Check your email.
What it means. The code doesn't match or has already expired.
What to do.
- Make sure it's the most recent email.
- If you can't find it, tap «Reenviar código» and use the new one.
What you see · Wizard, «Algo se atoró» screen
«Tu sesión expiró. Vuelve a intentarlo.»
Your session expired. Try again.
What it means. Your session closed before you finished.
What to do.
- Sign in again.
- Go back to the wizard and tap «Reintentar».

What it means. Your email isn't confirmed yet.
What to do.
- Look for the code in your email.
- Confirm it and try again.

Partner bank accounts don't publish cars.
What it means. You signed in with a partner bank account, which can't advertise.
What to do.
- Sign out.
- Publish with an advertiser account.

Select an active agency before creating an ad.
What it means. No advertiser account is selected to publish with: you don't have one, or you belong to several and none of them is active.
What to do.
- Choose the account you're going to publish with.
- Tap «Publicar» again.

«No tienes permiso sobre esta agencia.»
You don't have permission for this agency.
What it means. You aren't part of the account you're trying to publish with, or your permission changed.
What to do.
- Check with the owner or an administrator of the account.

«Demasiadas publicaciones creadas en poco tiempo. Espera unos minutos.»
Too many ads created in a short time. Wait a few minutes.
What it means. You created many ads in a row and creating them was paused for a while.
What to do.
- Wait a few minutes.
- Publish again. Your autosaved copy isn't lost.
What you see · Panel form, «Publicar también en»
«Demasiadas operaciones de Mercado Libre en poco tiempo. Espera unos minutos.»
Too many Mercado Libre operations in a short time. Wait a few minutes.
What it means. What Mercado Libre asks for was reviewed many times in a short time, or you sent many cars in a row, and it paused for a while.
What to do.
- Wait a few minutes.
- Change a detail or check the account again so it's reviewed again. Your car on Cliquéalo isn't affected.
What you see · Panel form, «Publicar también en»
«Esta cuenta de Mercado Libre ya no está conectada. Revísala en Ajustes > Integraciones > Conectar aplicaciones.»
This Mercado Libre account is no longer connected. Check it in Settings > Integrations > Connect apps.
What it means. The account was disconnected or removed while you were filling in the form.
What to do.
- Reconnect it from AjustesIntegracionesConectar aplicaciones ("Settings > Integrations > Connect apps").
- Open the form again. Your autosaved copy isn't lost.
What you see · «¡Tu auto ya está publicado!» window, under «No se envió a …»
«No tienes permiso para publicar este auto en otras plataformas.»
You don't have permission to publish this car on other platforms.
What it means. The car was published on Cliquéalo, but your permission to manage connected apps changed or the car belongs to another agency.
What to do.
- Ask the agency owner for the connected apps permission.
- Send the car from the car's «Canales» ("Channels").
What you see · Panel form, when finishing
«La publicación quedó en revisión pendiente.»
The ad is pending review.
What it means. The car was created, but the automatic review couldn't run at that moment. The notice includes the details.
What to do.
- Nothing: the car stays En revisión and the Cliquéalo team reviews it.
